YEARDLEY is a provocative and disturbing drama about a married narcissist who cannot think beyond his own sexual needs. After ending an office affair, JEFF YEARDLEY is accused of sexual harassment and soon his wife, SUSAN, leaves with their child and files for a separation. Quickly he's subjected to the intrusive eye of the courts, visitation supervisors and social workers who monitor and second guess all of his decisions.
Desperate to rebound, Jeff accepts a job from his friend at a call center and falls victim to a ploy by two unscrupulous and manipulative women who make a bet to see which of them can sleep with him first. Incapable of denying their advances, Jeff falls into a downward spiral of lust and betrayal and he must overcome his selfishness if he's to win back his family or else be doomed to a much worse fate.

Director Heath C. Michaels has made a film that defies all expectations and is quite unpredictable. An everyday middle class man is incapable of taking responsibility for his actions with his family, which requires the state bureaucracy to take over. Unfortunately for the main character, these state workers and society in general immediately deem him guilty and offer no solution out of his mess. A slow burn, Kafkian universe ensues as the main character finds himself falling deeper into a kind of hell only Voltaire could imagine! The cinematography portrays the monotony and clausterphobia of Los Angeles apartments, a bland, homogenous cityscape, the various cultural snapshots of brutal competition within different class layers of society and nature as the manifestation of a continuous, throbbing siren's call - exploiting the strength of modern women and their new found power in society (to its arguably extreme ends) and the lost man - incapable of finding a place within the new strata of society. Performances were all solid, especially the lead actor who did a great job finding some humanity and sympathy in an utterly clueless protagonist.
