Dream' follows the journeys of six ordinary Americans from six very different backgrounds as they attempt to achieve a lifelong dream. The dreams vary in scope and subject: A 60 year old College Dean from Madison hopes to stage a children's fantasy play that will not only entertain, but will teach kids around the world that we are all connected. A 17 year old guitarist from New Orleans dreams to start a band that will compose and perform original music and eventually be able to make a living doing it. A 30 year old woman from San Francisco quits her job and travels to Africa with a video camera seeking out stories of ordinary people in small communities doing extraordinary things that improve their environment, hoping to someday share these stories with the world. Two housewives from Tucson dream of starting a foundation that will educate the world about the life saving benefits of conserving umbilical cord blood. These dreams are all anchored on the story of the film's producer who hopes that this film will eventually inspire people to join a web community that will help people achieve their dreams. The film documents the process each used in their attempts to achieve the dream. It shows the frustrations and challenges each faces as they inch forward buoyed only by an endless fount of passion. Whether or not each succeeds ultimately takes a back seat to the fulfillment each feels at having tried.
