Santa Fe Film Festival 2008

"Mariachi Spectacular" is a fifteen minute documentary about a wonderful program which has been run each summer for the last 18 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This one of kind program brings together student musicians and Masters of the art of Mariachi music for a week of fun, hard work and commitment to this music that means so much to the Hispanic community. The film follows the children and the teachers in a breathless overview from their arrival to the culmination performance at the end of the week. Filmed in July '08 by veteran filmmaker, Thom Eberhardt, the entire production used volunteer help...from the director, Eberhardt, to the UNM student grips to well known New Mexico professional actor, Raoul Trujillo, who narrates the piece.
